You can connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to your publication on Steady. The AI assistant can then answers questions about your membership numbers. We have written twelve questions as prompts for this. A prompt is the text you give the assistant. The prompt set is a test version.
Connecting an assistant is completely optional.
In your Steady backend, navigate to Settings and then AI assistants.
Follow the steps to connect, either via Claude or ChatGPT.
We created a set of prompts for you to use. You can find these prompts on Github here: https://github.com/steady-media/steady-prompts/blob/main/steady-prompt-set-en.md
Of course you can also just create your own prompt.
Open a new chat in your assistant. Choose the strongest model it offers.
In the prompt set, find the prompt “Where do I start?“. It stands in a grey box. The copy button is at the top right of the box.
Paste the text into the chat and send it.
If the assistant asks for permission to use the Steady connector, allow it.
The answer takes a few minutes. It shows what is unusual in your numbers and which question to ask next.
This gives the best answers:
Create a project in Claude or ChatGPT.
Copy “Part A: Standing rules” from the prompt set. Paste it into the project’s instructions.
Check that the Steady connector is switched on in the project.
After that, a short question is enough in this project, for example: “How’s it going?”
Where do I start?
How’s it going?
Fewer joining or more leaving?
When do I lose members?
Where will I be in a year?
What did the campaign bring?
Do they stay?
Is that a lot or a little?
Should I change my price?

Some prompts contain text in [square brackets], for example a date or a target. Replace it with your own details.
The assistant only reads your numbers and posts. It changes nothing on Steady.
For the numbers, it sees totals: members, revenue, cancellations. It does not see the names or email addresses of your members.
The numbers and content it reads go to the provider of your assistant.
AI assistants make mistakes. Check a number in your Steady backend before you base a decision on it.
