# What are countdown plans?

Limited-time offers (formerly countdown plans) are sold until a date you choose, then disappear from your page automatically

**A limited-time offer is a plan you only sell until a date and time you choose.** These used to be called countdown plans. Use them for special promotions – for example, a particularly cheap plan that’s only available for two days.

On your Steady page, the plan shows a countdown so readers can see how much time is left.

## What happens when the offer ends?

-   The plan disappears from your Steady page and checkout, and nobody can join it any more.
    
-   Everyone who joined before the end date stays a member of the plan.
    
-   The plan isn’t archived. If you want to sell it again, choose a new end date or turn the limited-time offer off.
    

## How do I set up a limited-time offer?

1.  Go to [Plans](https://steady.page/backend/publications/default/plans) and create a new plan – or open an existing plan’s details and click **Edit**.
    
2.  In the Settings section, turn on **Make this a limited-time offer**.
    
3.  Choose the date and time when the offer should end. The time is in GMT.
    
4.  Click **Save** – or **Publish** for a new plan.
