# What are hidden plans?

Hidden plans don't appear on your Steady page or in the checkout, but anyone with the plan link can join. How to hide a plan and share its link

**Hidden plans don’t appear on your Steady page or in the checkout – but anyone with the plan’s link can still join.** If you don’t want to offer a plan at all any more, archive it instead. [More about archiving plans](https://help.steady.page/en/articles/6265731.md)

## When do hidden plans make sense?

Hidden plans work well for special promotions or offers meant for a specific audience. For example, you can offer your newsletter subscribers an exclusive, cheaper plan.

They’re also useful in [email automations](https://help.steady.page/en/articles/8608729.md). You can send people an offer to win them back, for example with these triggers:

- **User didn’t complete purchase**

- **User canceled during trial**

- **Membership ended**

## How do I hide a plan?

Go to [Plans](https://steady.page/backend/publications/default/plans) in your backend and open the plan’s details from its row in the plans table. Then either:

- click **Hide** in the side panel, or

- click **Edit**, turn on **Hide this plan** in the Settings section at the bottom and click **Save**.

The plan now shows the state “Hidden” in the plans table. To put it back on your Steady page, click **Show** in the side panel.

> **Note:** A hidden plan can’t be the highlighted plan on your Steady page. If you hide your highlighted plan, its highlight is removed.

## Share a plan with its link

Every published plan – hidden or not – has its own link. This is how you share it:

1. Go to **Plans** and open the plan’s details from its row.

2. Click **Share**.

3. Copy the **Plan URL** and send it to the people you want to offer the plan to.

The link opens the plan’s own page, where readers can join straight away. If you have more than one plan on your Steady page, the page also shows “Not for you? See other plans”, so readers can compare.

If you offer the plan as a gift membership, the Share window also shows a **Gift plan URL**. It takes people straight to giving this plan as a gift. [More about gift memberships](https://help.steady.page/en/articles/6743400.md)
