# How to delete your Steady account

How to delete your Steady account, and what has to be settled before you can

To delete your Steady account, log in and open [Account → Profile in the membership backend](https://steady.page/backend/settings/account/edit). Then click on “Delete account” at the bottom of the page.

Please note that you can only delete your account if you have no active memberships, so you have to [cancel your current memberships](https://help.steadyhq.com/en/articles/6265648-how-do-i-cancel-a-membership-on-steady) before deleting.
